Course objectives
The course is obligatory-facultative and it is devoted to those students of bachelor programme Geology who intend to aim their effort to the more detailed study of paleontology, historical geology and sedimentary geology. It intensifies the general information included in the course G1081.

  • Paleontology - its position in the system of sciences, structure and research subject & Taphonomy and biostratinomy & Paleobiogeography & Stratigraphy & Systematics, taxonomy, classification, nomenclature & Overview of paleontological methods & Evolution & The evolution of ecosystems and biotic crises in the Earth history & History of paleontology. & Comprehensive inforamtions about selected fossil groups

Teaching methods
Lectures theoretical i practical. Works with paleontological collections, preparing of selected presentation, visit of glasshouse.
