- Course objectives
- After completing this course the student will be able to:
use specialized chemical vocabulary, recognize synonyms;
understand authentic chemical texts, deduce from the text;
identify specific information in a specialized text, form questions to the text;
summarize a more chemical text in writing;
practise language functions in English: how to define, describe a process, explain cause and effect
prepare a presentation on chemical topics using basic presentation techniques;
understand authentic specialized audio materials, understand a lecture, take notes;
discuss general and chemical topics, argument;
apply acquired grammar skills in specialized contexts - Learning outcomes

- Course of English for Special Purposes; specialized text analysis (main idea, questions, comprehension, summary), listening comprehension, video materials, conversation and discussion in pairs and in groups, presentations in plenary; applying grammar in new contexts; writing; homework; blended learning; team project
- Assessment methods
- Active work in the course, doing homework and 80% seminar attendance are compulsory. The course is concluded with a semestral project. The coursework is subject to continuous assessment.
