- Course objectives
- Detailed view into plastic and brittle deformation of minerals and rocks. Focused to micro-scale.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of this course, students should be able to interpret main mechanisms of deformation of the rock specimen.
- Syllabus
- Mechanisms of ductile deformation.
- Deformation microstructures.
- Measurement of crystallographic preferred orientations.
- Quantitative analysis of microstructures.
- Kinematic indicators on faults.
- Rheological strength profiles.

- Short courses and practical training. Work with real rocks and PC.
- Assessment methods
- final test, protocols. The number of students at individual exam terms will be regulated according to current crisis measures in spring semester 2021. In case of completely critical situation, the completion of the course will be in a distance form in spring semester 2021.
