- Course objectives
- Students can apply general principles of geology in solving environmental problems. They will be able to define (1) planet systems and cycles, (2) to recognize hazardous geologic processes, (3) to analyse natural resources and the impact of their use to environment, (4) to interpret of types and migration of contaminants in environment, and (5) to apply principles of minimalization of human impact to environment and risk analysis.
- Learning outcomes
- Student after passing the course: - understand the interactions of geological and biological processes -can relate phenomena taking place in contact with the hydrosphere, atmosphere and geosphere - can define environmental risks - is able to design a suitable method of environmental risk assessment - is able to analyze current scientific knowledge in environmental geology - is able to orient itself in current legislation on environmental protection and waste management
