- Course objectives
- This course offers four chapters oriented towards: 1. Modern optical methods in inorganic nanocolloid chemistry - in situ UV-vis detection of nucleation growth processes - FFF-UV-vis and DLS-ES-DMA analysis of ligated nanoparticles - surface plasmon resonances in oxide and metal nanoparticles - Raman/FTIR spectroscopy of phonons in nanosized semiconductors - luminescent blinking in inorganic nanoparticles 2. Modern electrochemical methods employed on nanoparticles and their assemblies: - Zeta potential measurements - spectroelectrochemistry of nanoparticulate films - electron transport in ZnO assemblies 3. Surface/bulk-morphology of nanosized materials - porosity, surface tension and specific surface area - thermodynamics of nanoparticles and ligand adsorptions 4. Fractal approach to analysis of experimental physical chemistry data - introduction to fractals - concept of fractal dimension and related characterization techniques - selected examples of Df determination
