Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The exam assesses student´s ability to
understand specialized texts/discourse
identify key ideas
formulate key ideas
transfer information from the text
classify, describe cause and effect, compare, define
summarize an advanced text related to their field of study
present a specialized text related to the field of study using advanced presentation techniques
discuss common topics and those related to their field of study
talk about one´s field of study using topic-based vocabulary
use argumentation
Learning outcomes
The exam will prove that the student is able to: prepare and present an academic presentation on a topic from his/her field of study and then lead a discussion on the academic topic; write an argumentative essay, abstract of an oral presentation and prove the language knowledge and skills at level B2 according to the CEFR.
Syllabus
  • 1. Written part - argumentative essay (250-280 words), abstract for presentations (150 words), self-reflective essay related to language study (200-250 words) 2. Oral part - Presentation of a professional topic for 10-12 minutes related to the studied field + discussion.
