We have a mentoring program for you!
Centre for Gender & Science, Institute of Sociology of the Czech
Academy of Sciences, offers a Mentoring Program for Early Career
Researchers. The aim of the program is to support the professional
development of doctoral and postdoctoral researchers, help them
launch their scientific career, and clarify its direction.
What does the mentoring
program entail?
An early career researcher (mentee) teams up with a more experienced
researcher (mentor) from an institution other than the one
at which the mentee studies or works. The mentor shares her/his
approach to research work, presents his/her scientific career, both
professional and personal experience with life in the research environment
and work-life-balance strategies, give advice and helps
to find answers to questions that the mentee needs to address. The
mentor also introduces the mentee to other members of the scientific
community, provides workplace references and discusses news in
the discipline. The content of the program depends entirely on the
mentee’s  and mentor’s  decision. Besides the mentor-mentee partnership,
the program also offers courses of professional and personal
development.

Doctoral and postdoctoral researchers
Program duration
The program takes place from February to December.
Time requirements
Time spent on the program is based on the possibilities and mutual
agreement of the mentee and the mentor.
