1/2 Merit Scholarship Programme for full-time students Evidence number of the scholarship programme: ESF_04_1.7.2006. 1. Purpose of the scholarship programme: The Merit Scholarship Programme provides scholarships to motivate full-time students to achieve excellent academic results that will enable their studies to progress smoothly within the standard duration of study, and to enhance the quality of the educational process of the faculty and its public profile. This scholarship programme is announced for an indefinite period until further notice. 2. Eligibility for the scholarship: (1) A person eligible to receive a scholarship is a full-time Bachelor’s, full-time Master’s, or full-time follow-up Master’s student who has not exceeded the standard duration of study during the relevant period. (2) The entitlement of an person eligible under subsection (1) may arise: a) for each past semester of study, excluding the last semester of study, b) for the last semester of study provided that, at the time of submitting the application, the eligible person is an active student in a study programme at ESF MU which is related to the study programme in which the entitlement to the merit scholarship arose. 3. Funding: The source of funding for the scholarship is the faculty’s Scholarship Fund. 4. Conditions of granting the scholarship: (1) A scholarship may be awarded to an eligible person who has achieved a grade point average of not more than 1.30 for all previous studies in a given field of study, and who has simultaneously earned at least 30 x n credits, where n is the number of semesters completed without counting semesters in which the eligible person’s studies were interrupted. Students in a follow-up Master’s degree programme who have completed their Bachelor’s degree at ESF MU and are immediately continuing their studies at ESF MU may also include in n the semesters completed in their Bachelor’s degree; in this case, they calculate their grade point average by including the previous Bachelor’s degree. (2) The study average according to paragraph 1 is calculated as the average of the numerical values of the grades accumulated in all graded course completion deadlines (Article 17, point 2 of the Masaryk University Study and Examination Regulations), which is listed in the MU Information System. (3) The number of credits referred to in paragraph 1 does not include credits earned for recognised courses, with the exception of courses taken abroad as part of stays organised by the MU ESF (Erasmus, double-degree programmes, etc.). (4) The scholarship is awarded on the basis of an application, which the eligible person is obliged to submit within 30 days of the last day of the regular examination period of the last semester of the relevant period. 5. Amount of scholarship: 2/2 (1) An eligible person who achieves a grade point average of exactly 1.00 will be paid CZK 8,000 x (n/4 + 1). (2) An eligible person who achieves a grade point average higher than 1.00 and less than or equal to 1.20 will be paid CZK 5,000 x (n/4 + 1). (3) An eligible person who achieves a grade point average higher than 1.20 and less than or equal to 1.30 shall be paid CZK 3,000 x (n/4 + 1). 6. Additional information: (1) The documents required for the award of the scholarship shall be prepared by the Office for International Relations. (2) The Vice Dean for Full-Time Studies is responsible for the scholarship programme and the award of scholarships.
