Brno is a city in the South

Traveling to Brno
It is probable that there won’t be direct flights from your country
to Brno. In that case, you will need to travel either to Prague or
Vienna first. If you are not sure how to get to Brno from there, feel
free to check this link where you can find useful information about
transportation to Brno from different airports.
You can find information on how to get to the city centre once
you arrive in Brno here (bottom of the page). Note that the main
railway station and Grand Hotel bus station are both within walking
distance of the city centre, so you might not need to use public
transport, depending on your destination.
If you are not sure how to get around Brno, you can check this

The Brno Public Transport Authority serves the whole city with

How to get to
the Faculty of Economics
and Administration

From the Main railway station
(Hlavní nádraží)
If you are coming to the main railway station (Brno Hlavní nádraží),
you will only have to get to the public transport stop “Hlavní
nádraží” located in front of the building. From there:
Take tram No.1 in the direction of Pisárky Take off at Lipová (the ride takes 10 mins)
Walk 3 mins to reach the Faculty
From the Grand Hotel bus station
The Grand Hotel bus station (Autobusové nádraží u Hotelu Grand)
is located very close to the main railway station. You will only
have to walk 3 minutes to get to the public transport stop “Hlavní
nádraží”. From there:
Take tram No.1 in the direction of Pisárky Take off at Lipová (the ride takes 10 mins)
Walk 3 mins to reach the Faculty
From Zvonařka bus station
Zvonařka bus station is located further from the city centre. To get
to the Faculty, take tram No. 12 and get off at “Hlavní nádraží” stop.
From there:
Take tram No.1 in the direction of Pisárky Take off at Lipová (the ride takes 10 mins)
Walk 3 mins to reach the Faculty

Places to see in Brno
As the second-largest city in Czech Republic, Brno is full of
historical buildings and interesting places. Here’s a list of a few of
them that are worth visiting:
•	 The Cathedral of St Peter and Paul – a gothic cathedral which
today represents one of the city’s most prominent landmarks
•	 Špilberk castle – a castle and fortress forming a dominant
feature of the city of Brno
•	 Villa Tugendhat – an architecturally significant building, one of
the prototypes of modern architecture in Europe
•	 Moravian Gallery in Brno – the second-largest art museum in
the Czech Republic
•	 Vida Science centre – science centre with more than one
hundred and eighty interactive exhibits
•	 Ossuary at the Church of St James – a place formerly used
to inter the skeletal remains from graves with a mystical
atmosphere
•	 Old Town Hall – significant historical building with a lookout
tower with amazing views of Brno
•	 Brno Observatory and Planetarium – science centre near a
beautiful city park where you can look into the microworld,
discover the secrets of life and much more
•	 ZOO Brno – located on the outskirts of Brno, there you can see
more than 2218 animals of 408 species and various exhibits
•	 Brno Reservoir – a great place for rest and recreation located
close to Brno Zoo, Veveří castle and Brno dam

Wi-Fi Access
A majority of Masaryk University’s premises are covered by a Wi-Fi
network. MU uses eduroam, a world-wide network that enables
internet connection at most academic institutions around the
world based on the principle of a unified login.
The basic requirement for using eduroam is an active relationship
with MU or another academic institution included in the eduroam
project. That means that if your university also uses the eduroam
system, the login and password from your home university should
also work at Masaryk University. If you have no login details for
eduroam wi-fi, feel free to contact your contact person at MU to
assign you new eduroam wi-fi credentials before your arrival to
Brno.
If you are not familiar with eduroam or your university doesn’t use
it, please see the information here. Keep in mind that in order to
be able to use the eduroam system, you must set it up before your
arrival at Masaryk university.
