COMPULSORY PHYSICAL EDUCATION
COURSES AT MASARYK UNIVERSITY
WHO IS IT FOR?
All Bachelor ‘s or long-term Master ‘s degree students of full-time study (except the students studying the
programme Teaching at Nursery Schools at the Faculty of Education and the students at the FSpS).
HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO FILL IT?
All full-time students are obliged to meet conditions for receiving two credits in PE during their studies (1 course =
1 credit).
WHAT SUBJECTS CAN I CHOOSE FROM?
Students can choose from the offered PE courses (listed under code p9xx). The offer is displayed in the IS and on
the website of the University Sports Centre (USC) of the Faculty of Sports Studies (FSpS) (see QR codes below).
WHEN DO I REGISTER A COURSE AND
WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT?
For the autumn semester 2023, physical education courses will be registered from 1 August 2023 at 5 p.m.
Registration takes place in waves, the first to register courses are students from the highest grades. First-year
students can register after 8 working days, i.e., from 11/08/2023.
After registering for the course, you will receive a call from the Information System to complete the Safety in
Physical Education Teaching training. After you become familiar with the security risks and if the capacity of the
course is not exceeded, the course will be enrolled. This gives you a certain place in the seminar group.
WHEN AND WHERE DO I FIND OUT THE SCHEDULE
AND CHOOSE A SEMINAR GROUP?
You can find the timetable in the IS, as well as in the case of other subjects. The timetable will be published no
later than 31.8.2023 (you will find the timetable information earlier in the complete course information).
From 1 September 2023 from 5 p.m., you will enroll in a seminar group that you will attend.
NO GROUP SUITS ME, WHAT TO DO?
To deregister a course, register another with free capacity, complete safety training (another subject = different
training), when the course is enrolled, choose a seminar group.
WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR?
Do not register for more compulsory PE courses in one semester, if you do, you cannot enroll in any of them, and
in the end, you will not study any. The exception is the combination of one subject and a training course. After
completing two credits from courses p9..., only courses c9... (paid form) which are provided by the Department of
Lifelong Learning (LLL).
