President
 Meeting with the dean happened in the previous week, He was
approachable and helpful.
 He would like to help MIMSA with the organisation of events in the
future. He had himself recognised that the Menu's in the canteens were
not translated into English, and has corrected the issue already.
 There will be future talks occurring between MIMSA and IFMSA
concerning future events, mainly orientation week.
General Meeting
 The general meeting has been set up for the 26th
of April 2010 at 7pm
in the large lecture hall.
 The main topics of which will be the changing of the constitution and
the changes in MIMSA since the new board took over.
Public Relations
 Had a meeting with Martin Kubat
 Out of the conversation came the idea of MIMSA setting up a Wikipedia
page
 Majeles- information day, we voted, 9-for and 1-against having our
own display at the event. The day of the event is the 7th
of May 2010
and it has been proposed that we have some form of medical theme
going for our display. Hands on, interactive activities.
 We need to have a flag made.
Pub Quiz debrief
 Well organised- there was thought that there would be more events
similar and perhaps more specific to medicine-

 More neutral questions
 Music round was bias
 More rounds but, shorter
 Lightning round left the other groups with nothing to do for a long time
 Ran overtime by 40 mins
 Made a profit of 3500Kc
IT
 Incorporate an event review section into the website- (forum)
 There should be a new computer arriving in the coming week
 The resource folder has been opened and we may already upload files
 Website work is slow due to the fact that George is still MIA
Orientation week
 We will run our orientation week in conjunction with the ISC, and
IFMSA from the 13th
to the 19th
of September 2010
 We will advise students to come into town earlier than the registration
week and plan to run some loosely defined events in this week.
 The first event will occur on the first Monday before registration and
will be just MIMSA members
 There will be an event on Thursday which will be relatively relaxed
 Friday they will meet the dean at the end of the registration week
 19th
and 20th
will be a MIMSA weekend
 20th

 25th

= weekend for everyone in all the organisations- proposed
day at the park
Note that no sales of food or alcohol are allowed

Year Reps
 Poll for electives of the fourth year happened on the internet but, a
problem occurred in that we had more votes than we have students
 New poll will be happening in paper form
 A folder has been created on the internet for the 3rd
year medics to
access powerpoint presentations and info for exams-
 Survey for courses will be happening in the future with the education
department
