Starting at Komenskeho Namesti with a bus to Campus and then a returning bus from Campus to
Komenskeho Namesti

Reason for event:

This event was intended to show new students to the faculty of Medicine, the campus at Bohunice and
to give them a brief insight into the running of the university and an idea of which courses they
will be taking during their initial studies.

Financial budget:

Bus was supplied by the university, access to the event was free to participants and organizers, so
the budget was nil

Evaluation of event:

The event was a great success, however only 2 hours had been allocated for the tour, which was a
little short, as since this was the first event, it was difficult to motivate interest from all the
department heads. However, generally the event was well accepted and new students felt like it was
a great help to their orientation of the campus and also to orientation of courses. The preparation
of the event was not optimal, but this should be better in the future, as teachers will be easier
to approach since they have now been exposed to the program once already. Also, it would have been
beneficial to have had a pre-event meeting with the tour guides, as not every tour guide was
familiar with the campus or did not know what important information to give students.

What to do differently in the future:

Better preparation for the event by having a pre-event briefing and also giving more time to the
event
Conclusion:

I hope this event will continue to run every year because it promoted peer-ship, was useful for
orientation of the campus and provided useful insights into the resources available and materials
required for the initial courses for new students
