Event Report Name and basic description of event Welcome Barbeque for Orientation Week 2010. Date of event (day, month, year): September 12 2010 Venue: Outside the Biochemistry Pavillion at Bohunice Campus Number of participants: Roughly 50 first-year students, roughly 10-15 MIMSA Board/helpers. Also, Eva Taborksa, Helena Melicharova, Jaroslav Sterba, Jiri Vanek Reason for event: Welcoming event for the incoming first year students. This was the first event of Orientation Week 2010. Important contacts: Professors Taborska and Vanek planned majority of the BBQ event itself. Professor Vanek supplied the catering and the musical entertainment (cymbale…. A czech music instrument and band. Traditional Moravian stuff…) Financial budget: O (everything was covered by the vice deans , especially Professor Vanek). Evaluation of events: The event itself went well, there was a full spit roast with all sorts of Moravian specialties and such, and beer. the only problem with the BBQ itself was that there was no vegegarian option, and the only meet that was served was pork (which was a problem for a few students on religious grounds). The event itself probably should be moved to later in the week due to relatively poor attendance. Pros: Event went well, and both the attendees and the people running the event (the profs etc.) were pleased with the event. Good, casual atmosphere, good food. Great kick-off to Orientation Week 2010. Cons: Relatively Poor attendance. What to do differently in the future: Probably put the event after registration of new students and have a vegetarian option. Conclusion: Event went very well, people enjoyed themselves. Could have a better turn out next time, and vegetarian food. Please have the report handed to the Secretary a maximum of 7 days after the event occurred- Signed Date:
