Students are obliged to observe the principles of work safety and use the prescribed protective aids. The students continuously keep the list of the interventions performed during practice. The records are confirmed by the supervisor. Content of practical training: Restorative Dentistry Students work under the supervision of a dentist, the individual treatment phases are consulted in advance. 1. Diagnostics and treatment of all dental caries classes (I. – V). 2. Preparation and application of all kinds of restorative materials. 3. Treatment of caries pulpae proxima. 4. Diagnostics of diseases affecting the dental pulp and periodontium. 5. Dental pulp extirpation or pulpotomy under local anaesthesia. 6. Application of a devitalizing agent. 7. Acute and chronic periapical periodontitis treatment. 8. Root canal filling (single cone method, lateral condensation, methods with warm gutta-percha) Oral surgery Students work under the supervision of a dentist; the individual treatment phases are consulted in advance. 1. Principles of treatment in oral surgery. 2. Local anaesthesia and simple extractions. 3. Treatment of inflammatory diseases and post extraction complications, stopping bleeding, treatment of oro-antral communication. 4. Diagnosis of perimaxillary and perimandibulary inflammations, inflammatory diseases in the oral cavity, salivary glands inflammations, sialolithiasis. Prosthetic Dentistry Students work under the supervision of a dentist; individual treatment phases are consulted in advance. 1. Fabrication of dental replacements from precious and non-precious metals, mainly linear bridges. 2. Fabrications of crowns from precious and non-precious metals, including veneer crowns, fused-to metal crowns and ceramic crowns both in frontal and distal parts of dentition. 3. All steps related to the fabrication of removable dentures of all classes. 4. Drawing of all metal components and retention elements on a plaster model. 5. Making impressions of jaws and teeth with common methods. Use of CAD/CAM system if available. 6. Examination of the patient focusing on orthodontic anomalies diagnostics.
