The Award of Students' Chamber of AS MU for Student Participation in Education. Competition rules Competition categories The Award of Students' Chamber of AS MU for Student Participation in Education is awarded in the following categories in accordance with the Rector's Award for Outstanding Teachers: a) natural sciences and medicine, b) social sciences and humanities, c) economics and informatics. Masaryk University thus recognizes a total of three students according to their area of teaching contribution (i.e. one per category). Nomination Guidelines 1) All Masaryk University students (i.e. both full-time and combined) or graduates who were enrolled in studies at MU when assisting with a course taught by their proposer are eligible for nomination (hereinafter referred to as the "nominee"). In order to receive a nomination: a) a nominee's teaching assistant record must be available in the IS MU, b) alternatively, this information may be confirmed by a course teacher/guarantor. 2) Nominations may be submitted by all active MU students, students who have interrupted their studies and students who either successfully completed or terminated their studies in the past academic year (i.e. after 1 October of the previous calendar year) (hereinafter referred to as the "proposer").  Nominations must be submitted via a designated IS MU application.  Each proposer may nominate 1 to 3 nominees in each of his/her studies; no nominee may be nominated more than once (by any one person). A proposer may only nominate a nominee who either taught him/her or who supervised his/her final thesis or dissertation.  Each nomination may be supplemented with an optional written commentary, subsequently submitted for consideration to the relevant SC AS MU committee. Comments, anonymously available to relevant nominees, may be used for future competition administration.  In order to nominate a person not included in the course teacher list, a proposer must enter the relevant person's university ID number. In the case of a person nominated in this manner, the code designating the course which the nominee is being nominated for must be entered in the text box. The proposer may also add a written commentary. The nomination cannot be taken into account without the course code.  Nominations are collected at the end of the spring semester so that even first-year students will already have completed a full academic year.  Nominations are not anonymous, the committee has access to a list of all proposers who expressed their agreement with inclusion in a student raffle. Proposers may change their nominations prior to a final collection conducted via the IS MU. 3) Nominations may also be submitted by a course teacher/guarantor: Each teacher/guarantor may nominate only one teaching assistant per course. The nominated student must fulfil all criteria set out in subsection 1. Nominations made by a teacher/guarantor must be submitted by e-mail along with a written justification to studentska- cena@mail.muni.cz 4) Competition results are evaluated by a SCASMU committee established for this purpose (hereinafter referred to as “committee”). The committee is chaired by the SC AS MU chairperson. 5) The final ranking is determined by the committee based on received nominations and on additional available materials: a) Student nominations:  list of nominees and number of nominations for each category, along with the title of the course they were nominated for,  proposers' comments on individual nominations (if submitted). b) Nominations submitted by teachers/guarantors (according to subsection 3 of these competition rules) along with written justifications of their nominations. c) Detailed information on all nominees  course opinion poll outcomes from the past four semesters,  list of courses taught,  list of theses supervised in the past four semesters,  list of authored or co-authored educational or learning materials, including electronic publications available through the IS MU E-learning portal. 8) Winners are announced by the SC AS MU each year during the university program of 17th November Celebration. Student Raffle 9) Each student who submits at least one nomination – and agrees to participate – will be included in a raffle to win a range of prizes. 10) A student may be included no more than once. 11) One randomly selected student from each faculty will receive a prize. 12) Students will be informed by a message sent to their university e-mail address.
