Musicologica Brunensia is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published twice a year by the Faculty
of Arts, Masaryk University, Brno. It includes contributions in musicology and related disciplines.
The journal develops a long tradition of Brno musicology school fostered by personal contacts with
leading world scientists as were/are C. Dahlhaus, H. H. Eggebrecht, Z. Lissa, J. Tyrrell and
others. Musicologica Brunensia is a continuation of periodical Sborník prací filozofické fakulty
brněnské univerzity, řada hudebněvědná (H) (= Studia minora facultatis philosophicae universitatis
Brunensis, Series musicologica), ISSN 0231-522X and ISSN 1212-0391, which was published from 1966
to 2008 (since 1997 also with parallel shorter title Musicologica Brunensia).
