become a confident writer.

First of all, be sure you are familiar with the required style of the paper. The structure and
length is usually already given.

Brainstorm your ideas concerning the topic and organize them according to their importance.

Scientific writing is a science with rules. The process of creating an academic text can be
differentiated into three phases: pre-writing phase, actual writing, editing and formatting.

Pre-writing phase


During the pre-writing phase it is advisable to get familiar with the guidelines setting the
required style and basic standards of the text (i.e. structure, length, citation style etc.) as
well as target reader.

In the next step, conduct brainstorming, by means of which the main ideas are gathered, organised
according to importance and the final flow of ideas is set.

Actual writing

Academic text attributes are conciseness, precision, coherency and clarity. It is highly advised to
focus on correct form and placement of citations to avoid plagiarism.

In the phase of actual writing, it is highly recommended to start with writing the main body
following with the conclusion and the introduction in the very end. The conclusion and introduction
are then formed according to the content of the main body.

Editing and formatting

In the final phase of writing process, enough time should be accounted for style formatting and
