Course requirements:

Written assignment discussing the topic of nation and nationalism: pick up one article from
obligatory readings and write a summary (300 words). Deadline: March 8, 2012. 10% of your final
grade.

Test: March 29, 2012. 50% of your final grade.


Report from Museum of Romani Culture (500 words). Deadline: May 10, 2012. 10% of your final grade.


Written essay. Topics can be chosen by students according to their interests and topics of the
course, students do not have to consult their choice with lecturer. Late submission will be
penalised by lowering one grade per day. Please submit electronically into an e-mail
asouralo@fss.muni.cz. Lenght of the essay: 1500 - 2000 words maximum (please, include the word
count at the end of your work). The essay must include standard citation and references (either in
the text itself or at the end of the text), as well as bibliography of cited and used literature.
All direct citation longer than 5 words must be marked by „“ and the sources included in
bibliography. (Applies also for WWW addresses, which must also include date of visit!!) Deadline:
May 24, 2012. 30% of your grade.
