INTRODUCTION TO ECONOMETRICS Fall 2016 Information about the final exam Instructor: Ján Palguta (CERGE-EI), 171922@mail.muni.cz Exam date: Tuesday, December 13, 11:00-12:30 (room VT 203) Form: The final exam is a written test for 80 minutes. No oral examination follows. Attempts: If some students would fail the exam in December, a second exam date will be scheduled in January. If any student decides to retake the exam after a successful first trial (scores more than half points in the first exam, see below), the score from the last trial will be considered as the final score. Equipment: Students should bring a calculator. If they wish, they can also bring 1 two-sided A4 page with their own original hand-written notes (these may include for example some statistical formulas). This notes will be checked by the instructor at the beginning of the exam. Any other materials or materials not fulfilling the rules cannot be used in the exam. If needed, statistical tables and more complicated formulae will be provided within the setup. A sample exam will be provided to give you a better idea of what to expect in the exam. Evaluation: The exam counts for 60 points of the total grade (remaining 40 points out of 100 are for home assignments). To pass the course, student has to achieve at least 30 points in the exam and at least 50 points in total. Points are given only for answering the stated questions. No points can be earned by answering questions which were not asked. Within a couple of days after the exam, each student will be informed of his/her points and grade by email. Everybody will have the opportunity to see the corrected copy and discuss the mistakes – in case of need, the details will be arranged by email. Content: The exam will contain similar exercises and examples to those presented at exercise sessions, during lectures and in home assignments.
