The Process of Developing Your Thesis
The process of developing your bachelor thesis has been divided into three main parts, within three semesters covered by three courses:
- Bachelor Thesis Assignment
- Bachelor Seminar 1
- Bachelor Seminar 2
Gerring credits from Thesis, Seminar 1 and 2
are partial milestones during a writing part of thesis. You will have these three courses during the next three semesters (on course at a time).
Main outcome of this Thesis course is an official final description of thesis.
To get credits from Thesis class you must submit a research proposal to your supervisor, which includes:
o
aim of the thesis,
o
draft proposal of research questions or
hypothesis,
o
draft proposal of methods used for answering
research questions or for support/falsification of hypothesis,
o
description of discussed problem and its
context,
o
initial literature review in the recommended
range of 1500 words and minimum of 12 sources
To get credits from Seminar 1, you must submit a document including:
o
comprehensive literature review,
o
complete methodological part,
o
commented structure of the remaining text.
To get credits from Seminar 2,
you must submit:
o
final version of a text in a form, which enables
submission and thesis defense, i.e.:
- aim of the thesis, defined by final description of thesis, is
fulfilled,
- the method choice is based on arguments in the literature review,
- text includes clearly described and justified process of writing
thesis,
- all parts of the work are mutually connected and in accordance,
- text has appropriate linguistic, typological and formal standard.
o
if required by a supervisor, completed
self-evaluating check-list.
The supervisor always determines deadlines and
means of submitting supporting documents for awarding the credits. At the same
time, supervisor can also determine additional responsibilities or supporting
documents, which need to be submitted for passing credit test (for example:
data matrix from surveys, etc.). The conditions mentioned above are minimal
requirements, which can be intensified or specified by a supervisor.
Unless otherwise agreed/stated, following
deadlines apply to submitting supporting documents for passing credit test:
o
Bachelor/Master Thesis – by the 14th day after
the end of teaching part of semester 23:59
o
Seminar of Bachelor/Master Thesis 1 – by the
14th day after the end of teaching part of semester 23:59
o
Seminar of Bachelor/Master Thesis 2 – four
calendar weeks before the deadline of thesis submission to IS
