Final exam will take place in VT 203 Room on a computer

The exam will take place on December 18 during the class from 12:00 to 13:30. You can use the 80 minutes for writing the exam. The questions will cover the second half of the semester. You can bring one side A4 paper sheet handwritten with notes and use it during the exam. 

Exam handout (the focus of exam):

1. Beauty measures and beauty rankings, explanation of beauty premium, and gender differences.

2. Labour market discrimination: social identity theory, hiring discrimination, correspondence study, anonymous job applications, statistical vs taste discrimination.

3. Poverty trap, different measures of poverty, limitations of poverty measures, minimum wage and living wage, principles of living wage calculation, in-work poverty

4. Future of work - questions based on students' presentations.

5. Think how we can reduce statistical discrimination in the CV by including the signal of applicant's ability (e.g., language signal). This strategy is used in this paper (also covered in the class).
