The ministry in your country is concerned about the discriminatory practices of manufacturing companies against people from minority group called Siths. You are hired to lead the experimental investigation of the prejudices of employers. You know that Siths have very common surnames and they can be identified by their last names.
a) Briefly explain how to design an experiment to test for the existence of discrimination against Siths in the hiring process by companies in the manufacturing sector.
b) Some believe that Siths are weak in mathematics that is demanded in the manufacturing jobs. Describe how can you adjust the experiment in (a) to identify statistical discrimination due to the math ability.
c) Your experiments confirmed the stereotype believe of Siths’ inferior math skills. What is your proposal to the ministry to reduce the prejudices?
