Presenting internationally
Lesson 11
Prepare a graph description presentation. Follow the instructions to prepare well for this mini-presentation format.
- Look up a graph on a topic/aspect/phenomenon linked to your country.
- Try to find a graph with informative value for the class. Choose a complex graph, not a single line graph.
- Name the graph clearly (in English if it is not the language of the graph), check the description of axes – avoid the pitfalls mentioned in the video watched in the lesson (how to spot a misleading graph). Copy the source.
In the lesson you will be expected to:
- explain the reason why you have chosen the graph,
- say what information value it may have for the audience in the class,
- make a comprehensive description of the graph, the axes, and of the development,
- analyse possible causes for the development,
- conclude.
- time limit - 3-4 minutes
- wordwall exercise on graphs description vocabulary
- You will be expected to use a
range of expressions relevant for graph description (including adjectives and
adverbs specifying the speed of change. The time limit for the description should be 3-4 minutes, but not longer.
- Copy
your graph into the shared google document here.
