There is a possible award of additional bonus points for outstanding solutions and interesting ideas. Whenever awarded, the bonus points count towards passing the required point threshold for passing the course.
Evaluation
Most of the obtainable points for this course will come from your continuous activities during the semester. This includes your work on the iterations and your team effort in creating a team project.
Up to 40 points from iterations (completing 5 independent assignments throughout the semester by modelling and coding tasks). The minimal required number of points from iterations is 20.
Up to 40 points from your team project (creating a complex solution from scratch, dividing work and collaborating with your teammates).
Up to 20 points from the final exam (the exam ROPOT (Odpovědník) will contain theoretical questions from the whole syllabus).
Bonus points
Assessment
The grade is obtained by the combination of points from iterations, team project and the final exam. The minimal number of points from iterations is 20. After getting at least 20 points from the iterations, the rest of the points can be obtained by whatever combination of points is possible. If you chose to complete the course with final exam, you must attend at least one final exam. If you chose to complete the course with credit, and you don't have enough points, you may attend the final exam.
Grade | Points |
A | points >= 94 |
B | 88 <= points < 94 |
C | 82 <= points < 88 |
D | 76 <= points < 82 |
E | 70 <= points < 76 |
Z (for credit) | points >= 60 |
F | points < 70 |
N (for credit) | points < 60 |
Exam
There
is only one type of exam, ROPOT (Odpovědník), in the Information
System. The ROPOT will test the knowledge you gained from the course.
The questions in ROPOTs will be given in English.
The exam will be held online via IS. There will also be a MS Teams call for each exam slot - you can be present at the call for the duration of the exam to resolve technical issues.
The ROPOT will consist of 20 questions that are either single or multiple-choice. Each question is worth 1 point. Questions cover all topics discussed during the semester. Questions of the "multiple choice" type will be evaluated based on "exact-fit", which means that you receive a point if and only if you select exactly the correct answers (not more, not less). Otherwise, you receive zero points - there will be no penalty for an incorrect answer.
You can take the exam up to three times, not more. You don't receive an F grade if you choose to retake the exam. However, only the last result will be taken into final evaluation, even if it is worse than your previous try.
