I liked the last block because we used the theoretical and practical things that we learned during the first blocks. For example, in the exercise where each of us gave their perspective on how to solve a person's problem, we could see that everyone had a different perspective, yet we all shared the common foundation from the person-centered communication theory we were taught.

For me, the person-centered communication course was very meaningful. I applied the practical and theoretical things I learned in my personal life, with my friends, family, boyfriend, and co-workers at work. Additionally, we learned not only about interpersonal skills but also about the Agile method and how to communicate better in a group with mutual professional goals to achieve in a limited time. This taught us to be more tolerant and understand how to listen to each other better.

There are three things that I really liked about the last session.

First, the open case. Although it seemed similar to the group conversations/ listen exercises we had before, I enjoyed the structure that we were given now. It feels like I have something in my hands now to orientate if I feel like, I do not know how to approach a problem/topic or just to remind myself more easily what we talked about in the course.

Second, the "PCC approach to conflict - activity". Applying what we have learned and presenting our ideas in a workshop-like activity was really fun and it showed me that, even in our small group in which everyone learned about the same topic, we still had different approaches and different understandings of conflict-communication in a way(?).

Third, the business approach to PCC. For me it was easy to remember situations or to think of ways that I could apply what I learned in my personal life. That is why, it was really helpful to talk about how to apply PCC in professional life and how the aspect of power distance plays a role in this. This power distance seemed like a barrier before, but PCC feels like a gateway-tool to find a way to communicate to higher ranked people in an appropiate but still productive way.

After finishing Block 3 of this course, I am really happy with how everything went. As I said on Friday, I think this course was really enjoyable but also helped me to learn a lot about communication.

The last block was much more interactive than the other two blocks in my opinion. Learning about the person centered approach when speaking in conflict to another person combined all of what we have been learning together. Working on the two open cases together in a group also really helped to solidify what we have learned and was a great “hands on” way to truly put into practice person centered communication. Learning how to communicate using the person centered approach is not difficult, but it does require an open mind and intention.

This class has made me feel much more confident in my communication skills in my personal life and the workplace. I think that I will have an easier time finding the career I want to pursue since the skills I have learned from this course will set me apart from other candidates and help me to work better with others.

I look forward to meeting with everyone on our upcoming zoom call! I really enjoyed the environment of respect and genuine care that we created in the classroom. I am very thankful for this experience. <3

I felt the connection that was built in our small group thanks to all of the participants being open and honest. I believe that all of the people that we meet throghout our life are coming to our life for some reason (maybe to teach us a lesson or to make us reflect on some actions etc.), there is a sense in every little meeting that we have. I like to think about the reasons why the composition of our group was exactly the way it was. We were all different and to me it felt like all of us kind of balanced each other out.

I loved thinking with my classmates during open case, this excercise allowed me to see how the discussion can develope and how we can get new perspectives of the situation just by asking more right questions and giving time to the speaker, trying to look deeper than usual. I want to say thanks to the case providers! I can definitely see my family using this tool in the future. :)

I want to point out the way our teacher Renate was navigating our group, so we managed to cover all of the neccesary topics, but it didn't feel like a strict plan, so we could adjust in the moment according to the mood of the group and we had the opportunity to look into interesting us moments in more details. For me this is the first course of such format and I'm truly happy to have this experience.

Thank you to Katarína for all of the organising moments and for sharing your knowledge with us. Thank you for creating the cozy atmosphere.

Also, I liked that we got some good books recommendations!

Can't wait to see all of you at the ZOOM meeting.

First of all, I would like to say that I'm really thankful that I took this course. This is because at first I wasn't too sure if I should take it, but now I think it is one of the best decisions I have made, I shouldn't have doubted for a second my decision to enroll. The environment of the class, being mostly international students really helped me feel at home. We are all new to the country so that sparked up some really interesting conversations, which most of the time we could link to the flexible syllabus of the course. There wasn't a moment where I felt uncomfortable, and even though the classes were long, time seemed to fly by. Also, this course has opened up my mid to different techniques that can be used in order to resolve conflicts or just to straight up have a meaningful conversion with someone. Also, the last block where we focused more on communications inside the working field helped me realize that I should learn how to be more congruent with my coworkers instead of sometimes saying nothing just to avoid conflict. Overall, I think this course is an experience in itself and it will be one of my many cherished memories during my stay here in Czech Republic.
