Week 7- (2.11) - Jan Žižka - Software Security Vulnerabilities in Practice

Presenter: Jan Žižka, Principal Technical Leader at Nokia & PhD student at FI MU

Abstract:  Security is one of the main concerns of software systems in production. Software systems can be attacked and penetrated through bugs allowing privileges escalation, arbitrary code execution or crashes. These type of software bugs are also known as software security vulnerabilities. This talk will give an overview what vulnerabilities are, how they are discovered, how they are reported, categorized, and most importantly how they are fixed and delivered in large scale software systems in practice. The shared experience is based on distributed large scale Linux Radio Access and Mobile Networks applications.
