- Gantt chart is essentialy a converted WBS
- module names must be consistent
- length may not be consistent - man-day ≠ calendar day!
- man-day is a unit of effort; required time in calendar days will be obtained once size of a team is considered
- example: 10MD = 10 calendar days / 1 FTE (full-time-equivalent) = 20 calendar days / 0.5 FTE = 2 calendar days / 5 FTE
- WBS includes the use cases (modules) either on horizontal or vertical axis, depending on the type of development (incremental vs. waterfall)
- Most modern tools for Gantt chart creation already include elements from Network diagram
- Focus on different types of dependencies between tasks: FS, SS, FF & SF (always use only one for a pair of tasks)
