COURSE 2: Team skills
Learning outcomes of the course unit
Course objectives:
Participation in the summer school will enable the students to:
- define team skills
- define structure, team roles and important aspects of effective teamwork
- define competences and needs of team members
- define and evaluate their own position within the participants group from the point of view of team roles, communication or cooperation
- define teambuilding as a method of group work
- describe different types of teambuilding programmes and to set suitable conditions in order to implement a programme for a specific target group
- use practical activities from the field of team building
Course contents:
- the team and its structure, needs and competences of team members
- team skills
- team communication and cooperation
- dramaturgy of a teambuilding programme before the event and on site
- methods of evaluation of teambuilding programmes
Planned learning activities and teaching methods:
- theoretical lectures
- practical activities focusing on individual stages of group development
- introduction techniques (ice-breakers, problem solving activities, trust development activities)
- team building activities from the field of psychomotricity games, juggling and other non-traditional motor activities
Assessment methods and criteria:
At the end of the summer school the participants will prepare a short teambuilding activity for their colleagues, according to specific criteria.
