Tchoukball
Tchoukball is a ball game that uses elements of handball, volleyball and pelota.
Tchoukball is a game that combines fast action of attackers and defenders, thinking and feeling for the game, partnership and cooperation in the fair-play spirit. It is a relatively new sport, which originated in the 1970s in Switzerland, as a response to the classic contact ball games (such as basketball or handball), in which injuries of the players happened very often. The aim was to create a sport that will be as dynamic and as fast as these traditional sports, but its rules and concept will eliminate injuries, which usually occur in sport. Tchoukball was developed as a so-called non-contact sport; the rules of the game virtually do not allow the clash of players. In classic contact games, there is a contact of players when they fight for the ball, during shooting and finding advantageous positions for further game actions. However, in tchoukball, no such thing can happen, even though there is a classical setting of two teams in the positions of defenders and attackers. The rules strictly prohibit any catching of balls by the player of the other team during passes of the teammates, as well as any personal attacks or defense.
