Dear students,

   

   the course "Role of states..." is limited in capacity to a maximum of 60 participants. As the
   number of registered students is higher, we need to choose 60 of you who will attend the
   course.

   

   Hereby follow the terms and conditions for the selection (everything in English):

   

   1. Motivation essay: briefly explain why you want to attend this course (0,5 page maximum).
   Please include a written confirmation that you are ready to spend a fortnight in another city
   for a traineeship, covering all cost at your own expenses (incl. accommodation and diet).

   "The Czech Republic faces several challenges in promoting its interests towards foreign
   governments and/or international institutions. Write a policy brief (max. 4000 characters)
   advising the Czech government on one of the following cases":

   

   - shaping and adopting of the EUs common energy policy

   

   - maximizing benefits and minimizing costs of implementation of the REACH regulation
   (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of CHemicals)

   

   - facilitating the U.S. visa regime towards Czech citizens

   

   and analyze key mistakes that have been committed so far by Czech authorities involved and
   suggest how, with what actors/stakeholders the just and equitable solution could be achieved.
   The main evaluation criteria will be: content (relevance to the assignment, creative approach,
   sources of information); style (language, style, clarity of argument).

   

   All parts must be submitted by 14th February; no exceptions are allowed.

   materials for the course in IS, into appropriate folders.

   

   The results will be announced on 19th February via IS Notebook.
