Short Biography: Marinus P C M van Schendelen Rinus van Schendelen (1944), graduated at University of Amsterdam, is full professor in political science at Erasmus University Rotterdam NL since 1980 and honorary professor since 2005. Visiting professor in North America, China, Middle East and all over Europe. Research activities are mainly in the fields of the European Union, politics-business relationships, business lobbying, public affairs management, parliamentology, Dutch politics, and mass-elite relationship. Academic activities. Editorial board member of German Zeitschrift für Parlamentsfragen, International Review on Comparative Public Policy, Journal of Legislative Studies and Journal of Public Affairs. Founding chairman of the Research Committee of the European Center for Public Affairs, Oxford. Member of various research networks (IPSA, ECPR, ECPA and others). Professional activities are mainly in the field of training, consultancy, mediation and research in the field of Public Affairs Management and Lobbying at the European Union (EU) level, at the request of companies (SMEs and MNCs), trade associations, NGOs, political parties, parliaments, decentralised governments and national ministries, most being based in EU countries and the others in N-America, Asia and Africa.
