Summary

In his presentation, David Christian describes the evolution of space and humanity over the past
13.7 billion years. Development, proceeding from nothing to staggering complexity of the modern
world. [D1] According to him, the complexity is created step by step by the so-called "goldilocks"
conditions and threshold moments. But[D2]  the key moment was the extinction of dinosaurs and the
beginning of human evolution 65 million years ago. DNA has created complex organisms that have a
rare brain gift and thus learning[D3] . In addition, thanks to their ability to speak, these
organisms also have a communication system that allows to develop and increase collective memory.
These organisms are humans. Christian believes that mankind's collective memory associated with the
discovery and existence of fossil fuels explains the complexity of today's world. Our goal

universe and of humanity, including all the pitfalls and benefits.
