Introduction - who are we, who are you and what is this class?
Welcome to The Mediated Politics of Everyday Life class. Here is the essential information you need to know.
If you want to know something, contact us both at our email addresses: jansova@fss.muni.cz, cmelavsky@gmail.com.
The primary information source for each class is here in the interactive content (check it frequently).
Steps to pass the class:
- collect 14 points (from possible 18)* in the weekly mandatory tests that will start on the 3d week**
- read and/or watch compulsory readings and videos in the interactive content
- pass the final test at the end that will cover class discussions during the semester***
* Additional points can be obtained by visible activity during class discussions (= significant involvement).
** Weekly tests will be held at the start of each class (from 3d week), you will have approximately 5 minutes to answer (online) 2 questions inquiring about current events in the world and/or the compulsory reading you will have to complete for the class. You can take the test from anywhere, but we recommend being on time for the class so you can take it there. For keeping up with the current events, we recommend AP, BBC, or Reuters websites.
*** Attendance is not mandatory but highly recommended. If you are not there, you are not catching the discussion, and you won't pass the final exam.
