The first part of the meeting will be devoted to the completion of the discussion on the issues of the current relations between the EU and Russia marked by a significant ongoing conflict (the issue of so-called hybrid threats, the specifics of the relations of individual EU member states, incl. etc.)
The opinion paper ("Position paper" 1) will address the following issues:
What direction do you think EU-Russia relations should take in the long term after the invasion of Ukraine? What are the possibilities for further development in this respect (also with regard to possible scenarios of further development of the Ukrainian conflict)?
How do you think the EU-Russia relationship has been and is being influenced by internal developments in Russia itself? What are the possibilities and scenarios for further developments?
In your opinion, in what way has the different quality of relations between Russia and the individual EU Member States influenced and is influencing the EU-Russia relationship? In your opinion, is it still true that this issue divides the EU? Or is the situation diametrically different after February 2022? How will these relations evolve in the future? (You can also focus on a particular EU member state or group of states.)
Please choose the specific focus of your paper from the above options (supporting texts will be added).
Other (reliable) sources (academic articles, policy papers, commentaries on Euractiv, Politico, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Globsec, OSW, ECFR, etc.) can also be used for Paper 1.
DEADLINE: Position paper must be uploaded to the particular folders no later than 1 p.m. (13:00) of the day before the seminar for which the position paper is written, i.e. March 11, 2024, 1 p.m.
