Internship at UN World Food Programme in Rome, Italy The Emergency Preparedness and Response Branch (ODAP) of the UN World Food Programme (WFP) is looking for an intern for its News Service Team, starting from Monday 3 December 2007, for at least for 3 months (preferably for 6 months). The internship with ODAP will take place at WFP Headquarters in Rome, Italy. The main responsibilities would include: - picking up news relevant to humanitarian and WFP issues from different resources - compilation of news and information for different products sent to our subscribers - compilation of summaries of main news particularly relevant to humanitarian issues For more details on responsibilities see the Appendix 1 - Terms of Reference. Excellent written English language skills are required. To be an intern at WFP: o you have to be a student, enrolled at a university or a graduate school and have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies. Spouses, sons, daughters, brothers or sisters of staff members will not be considered eligible for the internship programme. o you will be responsible for obtaining the necessary visa, residence permit (not applicable to EU citizens) and arranging your travel to Rome. WFP does not reimburse the travel costs to Rome. o WFP will cover the intern for medical insurance during working hours, and provide a stipend.
