                              Feedback on Liu’s draft of final essay

First of all, I found the title of your final essay very good. It is catchy enough and still giving
us clear information about the topic and the method of research. I also think that it is
interesting that you are planning to use Simmel’s concept of „stranger“ to start the essay with –
it is nice example of applying sociological theory on concrete example from contemporary society.
Works on Chinese communities in Hungary can be very useful for making comparisons between them and
Chinese family in Brno which will be the subject of your case study, and maybe it could help you in
coming up with more general conclusions about Chinese communities in Czech Republic. The things I
would like to read more about are your motives for choosing this topic, why do you think it is
important to know more about it and to do the research you proposed, as well as your expectations
of it. I believe you will write about it in the essay.
