This teaching unit will introduce students to the course (syllabus, structure, goals, requirements, etc.) alongside the general topics that will be addressed. 

A preliminary discussion will be held- please consider the following questions and think of possible answers:

1. What was your experience visiting/studying in Germany/Switzerland/Austria?
2. Why are you interested in learning about these countries? why do you think its important? 
3. What do you think are the main similarities and differences between these countries? Are they more similar or distinct? 

We will close the session with a short, interactive game about Germany. Students will be able to participate in the game in real-time and simultaneously via "socrative" (https://b.socrative.com/login/student/). More info will be given during zoom-class.
