2. A more detailed look at the scientific study of politics 20. 9. 2021
This week will provide a more detailed look at how researchers study politics. What hurdles need to be cleared in order to allow us to say that one thing causes another? For example, that economic development makes democracy more likely?
Required readings:
Chapter 1 from Kellstedt and Whitten. 2013. The Fundamentals of Political Science Research. 2nd edition.
Chapter 3 from Kellstedt P. and Whitten G. 2013. The Fundamentals of Political Science Research. 2nd edition.
Don't forget to fill out the quiz about the readings. The quiz will open for 10 minutes, all week up until 15 minutes before class meeting.
Homework assignment:
Do exercises 3 and 5 on page 22 in Kellstedt P. and Whitten G. 2013. The Fundamentals of Political Science Research. 2nd edition.
