Homework:

Do the homework before this week's class. Insert your answers in the ROPOT application (the link is below) and also bring your answers to the class. As homework this week, do the exercises in the following document:

Writing challenge

The writing challenge begins after today's lecture. If you want to participate, begin documenting your writing on the first day after today's lecture. If you successfully complete the writing challenge, you will receive 2 percentage points towards your final score.

Rules of writing challenge:

The writing challenge lasts 4 weeks. Make a plan for when and how you will write so that you write continuously for at least 15 minutes, 5 days a week (two days a week you have a break from writing). Every day document when and what you wrote. At the end of the week, report your writing in the appropriate ROPOT.

During the writing challenge, find a friend in the course. Exchange a seminar paper or position paper from a course for which you are registered. Give each other feedback on the paper - either in writing or during a meeting over coffee or via MS Teams video call. Write a short paragraph about what you learned about giving feedback and about what you learned from your colleague's  feedback. This feedback report will be included in the ROPOT in the last week of the writing challenge. You can exchange feedback at any time during the four weeks of the writing challenge (just save the report somewhere where you can find it in the fourth week :-)

Midterm exam

The midterm exam will take place on Monday Oct 18. It will be delivered via a ROPOT application. You may enter the midterm exam only once between 8am and 10pm on Oct 18. The ROPOT application has 15 questions and there is a time limit of 20 minutes, after that time limit, it will close. You may use class materials to work on the exam but you are expected to work on the exam independently, without anyone's help.

The link to the ROPOT application is below and will also be distributed via email on Monday in the morning.

I recommend reviewing materials from weeks 1-5: the required readings, lectures, and homework assignments.
