Week 5: Realistic Conflict Theory, The Power of The Media- Reading Week

In this teaching unit, we will explore the following topics:
- Group behavior and Dynamics: Group polarization, Groupthink (following last week's short video and introduction)
- Selective perception + recall
- Realistic Conflict Theory, Sherif’s Robbers Cave Experiment.
- Behavioural/social scripts and their influences
- The Mass Media and its ability to shape our opinions
- The language of war, the 'pro-us' illusion.
