Dr. Cockett is a professor in communication, she teaches courses concerned with organizational, nonverbal, interpersonal, or group communication, she also teaches about qualitative research methods, and cultural analysis course. In her research she focuses on focus group interaction, more specifically she is interested in how professional work practices related to issues of identity.
