The course is divided into two parts - an overview and a discussion with experts about areas of their current research that are relevant to contemporary issues.

The course is evaluated at 7 ECTS credits. Therefore, be ready to do research and present. On the flip side, there is no exam. 

 For the overview part:

• Read an article from Foreign Affairs as listed in the sign-up list and write up a position paper (2000 words). Prepare a presentation of the basic argument of the article. Both are due the day of the session as indicated on the list. (20+15 points)
• Read an article from Foreign Affairs as listed in the sign-up list and write up a position paper (2000 words). Come to the class ready to discuss the paper and your conclusions after the presenter finishes. (20+5 points)

• Pair up and prepare a briefing on an assigned topic indicated in the syllabus and write up a briefing paper (2500 words) (25+15 points)
• Write alone a short briefing paper and be ready to discuss the topic with the presenters (1500 words) (25+5 points)
