The International Perspectives of Media Studies Experts
Sergei Loznitsa, 26. 10. 15:15-16:45 (ONLINE)
Online workshop of a prominent documentary director of Belarusian origin, who often uses archival material in his films. He will talk about the methods of his work, the ethical dilemmas that arise from it (especially in relation to working with ideologically heavily loaded material), and the ways of solving them. He has worked on the history of the Soviet Union, using archival footage from the 1930 Moscow trials in "The Trial", and unknown archival footage from March 1953, when Joseph Stalin died, in the documentary "State Funeral".
