Presentations for the seminars, specialization part of the course For each topic there is a lecture and a seminar follows (participation at the seminar is compulsory). In the specialisation part of the course, students will prepare a presentation for each of the seminars. Presentation is based on one of the compulsory or recommended texts (chosen by them) for 10 minutes. The students have to choose always one of the texts related to the specific topic which is on the programme: i.e. family policy, labour market policy, social assistance (minimum income scheme), pension policy, migrant integration policies. The presentation should include the following and the structure of the presentation should correspond to the following points: 1 objective, the question addressed by the authors of the text, relation of the question to the functions, objectives and principles of social policy 2 the method and perspective/perspectives/criteria for its assessment, the data used by the author 3 the main argument(s) by the author (key findings) 4 conclusions: discussion of the implications of the argument (findings, method) for social policy making for the study/analysis of the specific policy area, specific measures. The presentation should be rather reflection of the specific text than reproduction of it. The presentation may be in ppt format (about 6-7 slides at least), or word format (about 2 pages). The presentation should be always uploaded a day before the date of the seminar. For seminar 1, the presentations should be uploaded by Tuesday 29 October. For seminar 1, I allow the topic from readings related to family policy or to the general part of the course.
