As the first point, we introduce you amnesty as general term. Further we will cover where you can find formal sources of law about amnesty in Czech Republic. We will continue with basic facts about our amnesty in 2013 like how many inmates were released and what convicts were included. There is a brief quiz for you on that subject. As next issue, will be mentioned discussion about legality of this presidential act, because it is still nowadays controversial topic that divides society. You will hear reaction of foreign media, which were interested in Klaus’s amnesty too. The end of the presentation will deal with constitutional complaint, which resulted from amnesty. The choice of the topic is very topical and controversial. And controversial is always interesting. If done right this presentation may easily be the best one in the group. The dangers here are that the presenters will tend to present their own opinions. Other issue worth focusing on is the choice of the sources for the presentation that should be not biased. In addition, the presentation will hopefully lead to an interesting discussion with and among the audience members. I am very looking forward to your entry, although I am not very keen on constitutional law. I am very interested in what is your personal opinion about the legality of Mr. Klaus' recent amnesty - for example if it was or wasn't a breach of his presidential vow. In my opinion it was, because definitely there are reasons to consider this act as an acting against the all people's interest. Maybe it could be interesting if you could provide us some fact from historical background of the institution of amnesty. Gay and lesbian adoptions in CZR and BG In our presentation we would like to concentrate our attention towards the topic of adoptions realized by homosexual partners. The aim of our work is to introduce the differences between English and Czech legislation regulating this topic in the context of European legislation and political background. After a brief introduction, in which we would like to introduce some basics institutes of family law concerning the topic of adoptions, we would like to compare the Czech and the English legislation in their most important points. Finally we will try to situate the current legislation to Czech and British cultural and political background. I consider this topic to be very up-to-date. That is why it should be discuss and why it will be useful to learn something about it. I am looking forward to the comparison of the Czech and English legislation. I hope that questions of preferences and well-being of the adopted children will be also mentioned. As I said, I would also appreciate a space for a discussion. I have to admit that this topic is very attractive for me. Even today when we can say we live in modern and advanced period of time I still see some people who can’t stand manifestation of two persons of the same sex in public. I hope that this presentation will give me more facts about the situation in CZR and will bring me more comprehensive view of this social problem because I’m not really well informed about our legislation of this topic. Al Capone - No Subtitle Needed Al Capone is one of the biggest names in the history of the organized crime. His name does not need nay subtitle as he is unmistakably connected to the Prohibition year in the United States of the 30's. However, he is not only known for his lifestyle and money he made from bootlegging but also for the trial that led to his downfall and death in prison after his conviction. In our presentation we will focus on Al Capone with a brief overview of his activities and then look over the events that led to the investigation and conviction. As the presentation is related to the law we want to pay particular attention to the trial proceedings that led to the imprisonment of this huge figure of the Chicago organized crime. I absolutely agree with the first sentence of an abstract. When you say Al Capone, there is nothing more what you need to say to introduce this legend. I am really looking forward to this presentation, because the combination of words: crime, prohibition, Al Capone and USA in 1930's makes me curious and excited. The issue of organised crime has always been pretty exciting. A lot of stories as well as movies were created about it. I consider it a good idea to choose such a presentation topic, which combines a historical view of the 30´s in the United States with the elements of trial. Plus we can learn something about the legend of the organised crime that Al Capone certainly was. These are reasons why I am looking forward to this presentation.
