Report of miniconference
On the first impression nobody would have known that the miniconference was not professional. We
were welcomed by very pleasant organizers and everyone looked more solemn than usual. On a few
tables were even prepared refreshment and we got the impression of well-prepared conference.
First of all we had the opportunity to see presentation about Women´s rights in Islamic countries.
This topic was presented by three girls from our class. This presentation was for all interesting and
educational and we learned a lot of new things. Girls have chosen this topic because they are
interested in it. One of the speakers has even a friend – girl from Islamic country, so this is definitely
close issue for her. We asked some classmates on their opinion about this presentation. The
audience considered the presentation interesting, impressive and two of them told that they really
liked a game which was prepared for the audience. This topic is not completely new to all of our
classmates. One girl told us that she has already read the book about this issue, so information from
this presentation were not new for her. Other classmates told that there was a lot of new and
interesting information. The speakers were satisfied with their speech and preparation but
mentioned that it is hard to stand out as the first. The speakers also think that the subject was more
interesting for girls than boys.
Next presentation was called The first and last about high treason. This topic caught a lot of
classmates. The topic about the high treason was very well chosen and many classmates liked the
execution of the presentation as well. The part about America was the most interesting and popular
for the most students. After all a bad point was the dark PowerPoint presentation. We had to
concentrate more on reading. One girl mentioned that she did not like their posture and gesture.
And somebody felt that the Quiz which they made was so difficult for us. The presentation was a
little bit longer than others, but the historical and media parts were really catching for us. The
speakers were generally satisfied with their speech, but for the next time they would change the
organization of work.
The last topic was the European Court of Justice. The classmates had very different opinions and
comments to this last presentation. They liked the processing, but it was long and a little bit boring.
They think that in PowerPoint could be more pictures and colors. It was clear that the speakers were
nervous and maybe too shy to speak in front of the classmates. A crossword which they prepared
was good, but we did not have much time to complete it. On the other hand the presentation was
clear, not too difficult to understand and certainly also very educational. The speakers hoped that the
presentation was interesting and they were satisfied with their speech in 95%.
In summary, we would like to say, that we thank for your presentations. It was seen that the
speakers worked on their presentations very thoroughly and they did not left the work at the last
minute. Not everyone has that kind of experience with this type of presentation and we appreciate
that they tried to explain everything as well as they could. It is hard to go first.
