The second ‘Miniconference’ of the seminar group 04 took place on Thursday the 18^th of April at the Faculty of Law. The first presentation was called the Council of the EU, structure & competences. We asked Petr D. what opinion he had on the elaboration of the competences of EU in this presentation. He answered that it is an extremely problematic topic and that it’s not easy to understand it its‘ complexity. We agreed on what he said. The next question was related to the same problem, this time Aneta was asked for her opinion. She didn’t agree with her colleagues sitting next to her, but she claimed that the presentation was sophisticated although something wasn’t clear. We partly agree with her. On the other hand, the presentation contained many features that a high–level presentation should have. The second presentation was called Amnesties in the Czech Republic. This topic was very current, because our last president Václav Klaus has granted amnesty for many prisoners in our country. Václav Klaus said this verdict in his New Years speech on 1st January. The whole class doesn´t agree with his decisions related to this topic and they said that it isn’t very fair to some decent people. Somebody thinks that our last president wanted to set free some controversial criminals like the judge Berka and they assume he knew about this act. Their presentation was of a high quality. The third presentation deals with community property. We asked my colleague Tereza K. what is her opinion on that presentation. Well, she appreciates clear work with the slides. Meaning using not very long sentences, clear points and beautiful pictures (but not too much of them). We have to say that we absolutely agree with it. Also our classmate Martina S. said that she really appreciated the opinions, which the speakers expressed on that topic. She said: ‘The moment, when they mentioned the point that marriage is not only question of legal pros and cons, but it is also an act of love, really impressed me.’ All of the presentations were really professional, good job!
