The second mini conference - report After the successful seminar group #8 mini conference held on 9^th April in classroom 211, two weeks after, on 23^rd April at 11:10 a.m., we gathered again to our second mini conference about chosen legal topics. The structure remained the same. Three presenting groups with three well-prepared and interesting presentations. It was obvious that our fellow classmates were more relaxed and familiar with an organization of mini conference. Everyone was given an invitation and feedback papers at the registration desk by two smiling ladies. At 11:15 the first presentation started. The first all-ladies presentation presented by Beáta Doffková, Markéta Veselá and Veronika Dlouhá was called “Use of capital punishment in the United States”. Girls outlined the historical development of the highest form of penalty and got us to know the methods of capital punishment. The presentation was successful in the eyes of audience. The presentation itself was well structured and clear. The history part got the most positive reactions. However few people from the audience agreed that speakers should speak more loudly and shouldn’t be so shy. On the other hand we all were very satisfied with the “wordfind” girls prepared for us. Keep the good work, girls! After a five-minute long space for a feedback, the second presentation called “Introduction to international business law” was on schedule. It was presented by Martina Ondová, Jakub Šrámek and Jaroslav Tichý. This group introduce us into the most significant problems on the field of business law and European Union legislation. They really did know how to catch the audience. It was very educative for all classmates in the audience and it contained a lot of new information we were so eager to learn. The presenters maybe overestimated the audience with their quiz, which was a bit difficult for many people I had a chance to make an interview with. All of them seemed to be very confident during their presenting although they confessed to me that they could improve the rehearsing together. Anyway, we all thank you for such a great presentation! For the last presentation on our mini conference, the presentation group prepared maybe the most awaited topic of all. The title was “Unemployment of university graduates in the Czech Republic & EU” and the presenters were Šárka Peinlová, Radim Kosňovský and Linda Lešákova. I bet we all were interested in this as it affects all of us as students and future graduates. They showed us a connection between education and unemployment. Their presentation was really great. There were so many positive reactions on their graphs and the video at the end of presentation. Some of their classmates in the audience considered it as the best presentation they have seen. The presenters felt nervous during their presenting as they told me after that. However, it was not visible on them and the audience noticed absolutely nothing. As for the future they admitted they could work with presentation a bit more. One step to perfection! When all presentation were done, both the audience and the presenters were discussing and refreshing themselves at the refreshment table. Our second mini conference was over. We want to thank all the presenters they spend their time to prepare such amazing and interesting presentations and we also want to thank all the organizers who took care of timekeeping, chairing and registration. It was a very successful event and may the gained experience and information be useful for all of you! Reporters: Adéla Baláčová, Roman Janda, Jana Kozlanská, Jakub Helcl
