AI Liability
This module focuses on the topic of AI liability, mainly in the context of the development in the European Union. The development is ongoing. No laws have been passed and no case law exists. However, the topic is discussed on the regulatory and academic level and within the broad public as well. The provided literature reflects fragments of the debate; a vast number of other sources are available. Do not hesitate to read more and use it for the essay and the debate in the class.
Assignment
Required assignment for this module is a short essay (approx. 400-600 words) that addresses the following question:
How can the law assist in making trustworthy AI? Focus on one example of AI technology and/or territorial area and elaborate on your thoughts using relevant literature.
Voluntary option: In this assignment, you can focus on the development or regulation within the territory of your choosing (EU or not).
