For study:

Czech POINT

(an acronym which stands for Czech Filing Verification Information National Terminal in Czech) is a platform for assisted access to the public administration system. You can find a Czech POINT outlet at almost 1,000 post offices marked with the Czech POINT logo. You can get certified extracts from a number of public administration information systems such as Criminal Register, Land Register; register notified businesses, or ask for new access details to your data mailbox.

Extract from the Land Register

Do you need to prove that a real property belongs to you, or do you want to know who is the owner of a neighbouring house or strip of forest? Extracts from this public register are available without identity proof of the customers. You can order either a full or a partial copy of the certificate of title.

Details required for an extract include: cadastral area. Other options are: ownership folio number, land plot number, building registration number, housing unit number.

Extract from the Criminal Register - individuals

You may need an extract from the Criminal Register to get a job. Extracts from this non-public part of the register may only be issued to the registered persons themselves. Other persons may receive the extract only as proxies (holders of an authenticated power of attorney issued by the concerned person).

Details required for an extract include the basic identification details (name, birth surname, current surname, birth number, nationality) and details of the applicant’s birth (state, district, municipality of birth, if necessary date of birth in the case of foreigners without assigned birth number).

You will have to produce one of the following identity documents to obtain an extract:

  • valid identification card, or
  • valid passport, or
  • identity document or residence permit for aliens.

If any of the required details are missing in the identity document, you will have to produce another official or authenticated document, such as birth certificate, to prove the missing detail(s). If the additional document is in a language other than Czech or Slovak, it must be produced together with an official translation into the Czech language.

Proxy holders will have to produce the following documents:

  • authenticated power of attorney (in the Czech language), and
  • valid identity document.

Extract from the Criminal Register - legal entities

Extracts from this public part of the register are publicly available. The identity of applicants for extracts from the register for legal entities will therefore not be checked.

The price for an application for extract from the Criminal Register for a legal entity is the same as for an application for extract from the Criminal Register for an individual, i.e. CZK 100 inclusive of VAT.

Extract from the Driver Register

You can also visit a Czech POINT outlet to get an extract from the Driver Register. Extracts from this non-public part of the register may only be issued to the registered persons themselves. Other persons may receive the extract only as proxies (holders of an authenticated power of attorney issued by the concerned person).

Details required for an extract include the name, current surname and date of birth of the applicant. You can also produce the registered person’s birth number or driver’s license ID to speed up the identification process.

You will have to produce one of the following identity documents to obtain an extract:

  • valid identification card, or
  • valid passport, or
  • identity document or residence permit for aliens;
  • if necessary also the driver’s license.

Proxy holders will have to produce the following documents:

  • authenticated power of attorney (in the Czech language), and
  • valid identity document.

Extract from the Commercial Register

Extract from the Trades Register

Extract from the Register of Qualified Contractors

These extracts from public registers are frequently required to sign a contract or take part in a tender. You do not have to prove your identity to get these extracts; the only necessary detail is the registered person’s identification number.

Forms filed under the Trade Licensing Act

You do not have to visit authorities to set up a trade. Just visit any post office marked with the Czech POINT logo and bring a completed uniform registration form. You can download the form on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the CR.

You will have to produce the following documents to get a confirmation of filing:

  • valid identity card, or valid passport, or alien residence permit;
  • a copy of the completed uniform registration form (for individuals or legal entities); and
  • an original or authenticated copy of all required annexes (e.g. certificate of apprenticeship, certificate of requalification).

Administrative fees charged for forms filed under the Trade Licensing Act are set out in the Extract from the Insolvency Register

Maybe a client or supplier owes you money? Extracts from the Insolvency Register contain details about debtors set out by law. You will get the information whether or not the concerned person is on record as an insolvency debtor. Extracts for persons recorded as insolvency debtors contain details of the current status of the insolvency proceedings.

Details required for an extract include:

  • identification number (legal entities), or
  • personal details (individuals).

Register of Deregistered Vehicles

Car wreck yard operators must be registered in the Register of Deregistered Vehicles. They can do so via any Czech POINT outlet. Only businesses with a licence issued by the relevant regional authority for this activity may access this online register of received car wrecks.

Details required to obtain access to the Register of Deregistered Vehicles:

  • identification details of the operator (identification number);
  • identification details of he applicant (valid identity document);
  • power of attorney authorising the holder to access the register (if the applicant is a legal entity, the power of attorney must be issued by the operator’s governing body).

Visit any Czech POINT outlet if you want to:

  • register and obtain access details;
  • change user accounts assigned to your individual outlets;
  • generate a one-off password for your existing accounts.

Extracts from basic registers

Visit any post office providing Czech POINT services if you want to obtain:

  • Extract from the Register of Residents
  • Extract from the Register of Persons
  • Public extract from the Register of Persons
  • Extract from the Register of Residents concerning the use of data from the register
  • Extract from the Register of Persons concerning the use of data from the register

You can also apply, free of charge, for a change of data recorded in the basic registers:

  • Application for change of data in the Register of Residents
  • Application for change of data in the Register of Persons
  • Application for providing data about changes to a third party

Data mailboxes

A data mailbox enables you to send electronic documents to public authorities free of charge. Municipal authorities, courts, state authorities and agencies should also primarily send correspondence to data mailboxes. This means that you can use your data mailbox to communicate with the public administration system anywhere, anytime.
